Testing was undertaken for a proposed development at 18 Langrishe Place, off Summerhill, Dublin 1. Four test-trenches were opened in July and August 2005. The results confirmed the historical record, showing that Langrishe Place was developed at the end of the 18th or beginning of the 19th century. The earliest archaeological remains consisted of small-scale industrial activity represented by a wall foundation and brick-lined kilns dating to the 18th century. Later activity dating to the 19th and 20th centuries had caused heavy disturbance across the site.
