A wade survey was carried out in advance of the proposed riverbank adjustments and realignment of the River Mayne. The river flows through a zone of archaeological potential, with a castle and dwelling site c. 600m from the site and a church site (SMR 15:12(01)) also c. 600m from the site. The Mayne River travels through the townland and forms the southern boundary of this phase of the proposed development site. A stone bridge feature with large flagstones was found, but mortar and concrete remnants indicated it was of modern date and does not appear to be of architectural interest. No archaeological features or finds were noted.
