Monitoring of post-pits, excavated prior to the erection of a new fence at St Louis Grammar School, Kilkeel, was undertaken during August 2005. Monitoring was recommended due to the presence of an impressive tree-planted motte known as Dunavan Fort within the school grounds. A total of 34 new post-pits along a 120m stretch adjacent to the motte were excavated under supervision. No archaeological deposits or other remains were identified.
