Due to the proximity of Bonecastle and some evidence for quarrying in the same field, EHS: Built Heritage requested some investigation of this site prior to the construction of a single dwelling. Monitoring of topsoil removal of two test-trenches was undertaken in April 2005. The test-trenches measured 20m by 2m and crossed the footprint of the proposed dwelling. Nothing of archaeological significance was noted.
