The proposed development site is near Tawnyvorgal megalithic tomb. The development consists of the construction of a house, garage and associated services. Five test-trenches examined the impacts of these proposed works. The results uncovered evidence for substantial root disturbance in the area. The site had been planted with conifers some 30 years ago, these had been harvested, the area re-ploughed and replanted some ten years ago and, in turn, these younger trees had been cleared relatively recently. It was very difficult to excavate the test-trenches due to the number and density of tree stumps still in situ; however, nothing of archaeological interest was noted in any of the trenches examined.
