A series of eleven test-trenches were excavated in the upper of two fields that comprise the proposed development at Castleroe Road, Ballyness, Coleraine, overlooking the western bank of the River Bann. The work was undertaken on 24 November 2005. Each trench was 45m in length and 1.8m in width. Nothing of any archaeological interest was found.
