Monitoring took place of the construction of a single house built directly on the ‘footprint’ of a recently demolished 20th-century farmhouse. The development site is located in the zone of archaeological potential surrounding a ‘possible burial ground’. There is no visible surface trace of this site, but its presence is indicated by the place name ‘Crossnalanniv’ on the first-edition OS map. According to local tradition, the burial ground is located in a field c. 50m to the north-east of the development site. The remains of the floor and foundations of the demolished house overlay the mid-yellowish-brown natural boulder clay. There were no traces of any burials, or any other archaeological features or finds, uncovered during monitoring.
