Pre-development test excavation was carried out on a site located within the zone of constraint around a church (SMR 19:113) recorded in Canon Power’s Crichad na Chaoillí, which was destroyed during quarrying in the last century. The graveyard (SMR 19:153) may be of more recent origin and related to the workhouse in Mitchelstown. Five test-trenches were excavated in the area of the proposed development and no archaeological features or finds were uncovered.
