Five test-trenches were machine-excavated on a site at Gortyleahy, Macroom, which is in the environs of a stone row. Topsoil was removed to a depth of c. 0.4–0.5m to reveal a light mid-brown/orange clay throughout. No finds or features of an archaeological nature were noted.
