Test-trenches were opened at a proposed development site located on the eastern outskirts of Cloyne village. The soil profiles consisted of a mid greyish-brown topsoil layer overlying a mid-yellowish-brown boulder clay subsoil. There were occasional ploughmarks visible on the surface of the subsoil. There were no archaeological features or finds recorded during testing at this site.
