Monitoring was carried out during the construction of an extension to a modern bungalow located in the east end of the zone of potential surrounding Carrigrohane Beg church. The visible remains of the church site are located c. 50m to the west of the proposed development site. The area to be impacted by the extension measured 5m2 in plan and was occupied by a concrete patio before commencement of groundworks. The patio surface was found to directly overlie the natural subsoil and no archaeological features or finds were uncovered.
