Six test-trenches were opened on a site at Ballymague, Buttevant, which is in the environs of a ringfort. Topsoil was removed to a depth of c. 0.5m. This overlay a light–mid-brown/orange stony clay with occasional large stones. No finds or features of an archaeological nature were noted during testing.
