Five test-trenches were machine-excavated on a site at Ballykerwick, Donoghmore, which was in the environs of a ringfort and fulacht fiadh. Topsoil was removed to a depth of c. 0.3–0.4m. Beneath the topsoil, light mid-brown/orange stony clay occurred throughout, with occasional large stones. No archaeological finds or features were noted in the trenches.
