This report deals with the results of testing of Area 2 of Archaeological Services Contract 3, N9/N10 Kilcullen to Waterford Scheme: Kilcullen to Powerstown. Area 2 ran from Russellstown to Moyle Big townlands. Fourteen areas of archaeological significance were identified (Sites 1–14: A021/016–29, see Nos 54, 70–78 and 97 above and Nos 99–100 below). This site is one of three fulachta fiadh situated within an approximate 90m stretch of the road corridor (see also No. 97, A021/017, above). This spread was exposed for an extent of 2.5m at the end of the first offset trench north of the centre-line in this field and it is likely that most of the material is located outside (west of) the route corridor.
