A total of eleven small pits and post-holes were identified in this area during Contract 3 testing on the N9/N10 Kilcullen to Waterford road scheme, two of which were half-sectioned to assess their archaeological potential. A sherd of possible Bronze Age pottery was recovered. The area was widened and a further two features of archaeological potential were found. The area was covered with plastic and backfilled for resolution at a later date.

Further to the south, a pit feature containing charcoal in its uppermost fill was identified; it is likely that this feature could be associated with the group of pits and post-holes described above.
