This site on the N9/N10 Kilcullen to Waterford road scheme is centred on one large pit, which contained dense charcoal, large quantities of burnt limestone and disarticulated animal bone. This feature may be associated with lime production for fertilisation of reclaimed land (see A021/060, No. 62, Excavations 2005), but no diagnostic dating evidence was recovered from the excavation of the feature. The fact that animal bone survived in this feature but not in the majority of other sites in the area (probably due to the unfavourable preservation condition of the soils in the area) suggests that this may be a relatively recent feature.
