Investigations here revealed the remains of an early 20th-century house and three large subcircular pits. Pit F4 (2.98m in diameter, as excavated, by 1.1m deep) was cut by the smaller F3 (1.1m diameter, as excavated, by 0.8m deep), which was revealed to have a clay lining. The limits of neither pit could be determined as they ran beyond the limits of the site beneath the public footpath. Pit F22 (diameter 3.5m by 1.6m deep) was located c. 1m west of F3 and F4. As with F3, this too had a clay lining, although it appears to have been laid after the pit had been partially filled.
In the current absence of 14C dates, none of the pits contained any datable finds, although all three contained a considerable amount of animal bone and charcoal.
