Five trenches were opened up across the site, which is within the limits of the town walls, SMR 52:61. A number of medieval features, including gullies (ranging in size from 0.3 to 0.6m in width), subcircular pits (ranging in size from 0.4 to 1.8m in diameter) and large linear features (up to 3m in width), were uncovered. No formal structures were detected. Work is currently ongoing.
