Further development immediately north of the former Enkalon Industrial Estate at Townlands, Antrim, required total topsoil-stripping of an area of land designated for road widening. Evaluation took place in March 2005. The results of the work confirmed that the area had been affected by disturbance by the modern road and by adjacent factory development. Although no archaeological settlement existed within the site, evidence survived of alteration to the river on the northern side of the site and attempts to backfill a stream in the southern part of the area were also recorded. No archaeological artefacts were recovered.
