Further development of the former Enkalon Industrial Estate at Townlands, Antrim, required topsoil-stripping of an area of land designated for the construction of an access road to the carpark of the new Junction One retail outlet centre. Following the excavation of a series of test-pits in January 2005 (see No. 4 above), an archaeological evaluation of the land was undertaken. This involved total topsoil-stripping, which was carried out on 6–7 April 2005. The results confirmed that the area had been affected by heavy disturbance from industrial activity. No archaeological settlement existed within the site but several artefacts were recovered.
