Further development of the former Enkalon Industrial Estate required total topsoil-stripping of an area of land designated for a foodstore. Archaeological evaluation took place between 17 and 25 January 2005. The results of the work confirmed that the area had been a former wetland or bog and that no archaeological settlement had existed in the vicinity. Evidence of attempts to drain the area in the past, mainly by ceramic and rubble drains, was recorded. No archaeological artefacts were recovered.
