An assessment was carried out in advance of the construction of holiday cottages at the Brooklodge Hotel, Macreddin, Aughrim, Co, Wicklow. The hotel is located in the southern precinct of the historic town of Carysfort, in the townland of Macreddin. A fulacht fiadh (7.2m by 5m) was exposed in the western corner of the proposed development site during this programme of assessment. This archaeological feature will be excavated in advance of any construction works at the site.
No other features of archaeological significance were identified during this programme of testing.
