An archaeological impact assessment was undertaken at Clarence House. The site is located within the medieval town of Wexford. Substantial standing remains of the medieval town wall form the western boundary of the proposed development site. The town wall and other boundary walls of the site were surveyed.
Three test-trenches were excavated on the footprint of the development. The topsoil was up to 1.25m in depth. No archaeological stratigraphy or artefacts were recorded in the trenches.
