The site is located outside the medieval walled town of Wexford but within the zone of archaeological potential for the town. In preparation for the construction of a two-storey structure, the tarmacadam and road make-up was removed from the entire site to a general depth of 0.3m. Ground beams were excavated for the development’s raft foundations. These beams measured 1m wide by 0.6m deep on average. No archaeological features or artefacts were recorded in any of the trenches.
