Monitoring was undertaken of groundworks associated with the construction of a mixed retail and apartment development at Main Street, Rosbercon, Co. Wexford. Excavation of the foundation trenches revealed a number of horizontal spreads of modern material, collectively between 1.7m and 2.9m thick. These were made up of demolished building debris and disturbed inorganic soils deposited during various levelling episodes. There were no materials within them to suggest a provenance earlier than the 19th century. These lay on top of natural riverine slate, gravels and clays.

There were some structural remains towards the south-east of the site, exposed in a 6m by 1m trench. Two walls constructed with modern red brick sat on top of a spread of cobbles; 19th-century glass was recovered from underneath the cobbles.
