Monitoring of groundworks associated with the redevelopment of St Senan's primary school was carried out on various dates in July 2004. The site is on the slopes of Vinegar Hill. Groundworks primarily consisted of the reduction of existing levels to the south and west of the existing school complex to facilitate the installation of new surface car parking and the substructure of a new two-storey building.

The site was cleared of topsoil and overburden and levels were reduced by 0.3–2.5m. The ground reduction revealed undisturbed natural subsoil across the entire site. No archaeological deposits or features were identified.
