Testing was carried out on 15 July 2004 at the site of the proposed construction of a bungalow, propriety wastewater treatment plant with percolation area and ancillary area site works. The proposed bungalow site will cover an area of 336m2 and will involve the excavation of all topsoil down to a minimum of 0.15m. New access roads are also to be built.

Five trenches were excavated using a JCB equipped with a flat, toothless bucket within the area of proposed development. Two were excavated across the footprint of the house and three along the proposed new roadways. In all five trenches, topsoil directly sealed natural subsoil and nothing of archaeological significance was identified.
