Testing was undertaken on this 21-acre site prior to an application for planning permission being submitted. At the time of testing, no layout had been designed for the proposed scheme. A buffer zone of at least 30m will be respected around the ringfort located at the western edge of the site. Twenty-seven trenches were opened, covering a large proportion of the site. One section of the proposed development at the southern end of the site was not available for testing at this time. No features or finds of an archaeological nature were uncovered in any of the trenches opened.
