Monitoring was undertaken during demolition and groundworks at Railway Square, Waterford, following on from testing undertaken in 2003 (Excavations 2003, No. 1936, 03E0013). A well of probable 18th-19th-century date was identified beneath tenements on Mendicity Lane. Substantial stone walls were identified relating to the structures that formed the 19th-century railway station from which the square takes its name. No archaeology predating the 18th century was identified.
