Monitoring was undertaken on groundworks associated with the construction of a mixed-use development at O'Connell Street, Waterford. The proposed development site is located just inside the zone of archaeological potential for the medieval town. It is likely that the buildings that previously occupied the area of development date to the late 18th or early 19th centuries.
Foundation works consisted of the insertion of 36 piles. No features of archaeological significance were uncovered during monitoring of the site.
