Part of a late 17th/early 18th-century two-storeyed building within the walled city of Waterford was altered and extended in 2004. Groundworks for underpinning the old walls and for extra internal supports were monitored. Although the building occupies low ground, the levels inside and outside the building have barely risen in three centuries. Early post-medieval tannery remains were exposed in foundation cuts behind the building.
