The area tested in advance of building was devoid of archaeological material (see Excavations 2003, No. 1930). The excavations for underpinning the walls of the southern section of the building disturbed two pits, which were earth-cut and unlined. The fill did not yield any significant archaeological material. The area had been much disturbed. The majority of the site may have been cleared and removed prior to renovations in the recent past. The annex to the south had debris of what was most likely to be 19th-century buildings and, in two instances, pits pre-dating that building phase, though not significantly, were exposed. Fortunately, little disturbance of the archaeological record occurred.
