Monitoring was undertaken on groundworks associated with the construction of a mixed-use development at Anne Street, Waterford. The proposed area of development is bounded on the south by Anne Street, on the west by Penrose Lane and on the north and east by adjoining buildings. The site is immediately to the west of the zone of archaeological potential for Waterford city. The general ground level was reduced by 2m by mechanical excavator. Modern rubble, wall foundations and services were identified throughout. No archaeological features or objects were identified.
