Monitoring was carried out in conjunction with the extension of the Ballaghveny landfill into undulating farmland and scrubby bog that lies to the west of the existing landfill facility and to the north-east of Woodville House. The present landfill is located in Ballaghveny townland; the new extension crosses into Woodville townland.
This phase of expansion involved the construction of three new cells directly west of the active landfill. No archaeological features or deposits were identified during monitoring.
