Clonmel Town Council requested testing before construction of a mixed retail development. Test-trenches revealed that most of the site had been disturbed in the 19th–20th century. One piece of 13th–14th-century medieval pottery was recovered from a thin deposit confined to the north-western corner of the site at a depth of 1.85m.
