Monitoring was undertaken in two phases (from 19 August and 19-23 November 2004) adjacent to the Old Waterford Road. The development consisted of the construction of four terraced houses within a 440m2 area. The first phase of the works consisted of stripping the site of its concrete yard surface, while the second phase involved excavation of foundation trenches. The trenches measured 1.1-1.8m in width and 0.75-0.95m in depth. The site's stratigraphy consisted of 0.09-0.1m of concrete overlay and 0.2m of brick and broken limestone, beneath which yellow to orange sandy subsoil and limestone boulders were found.

Nothing of an archaeological nature was encountered in the course of the works.
