An assessment took place of a single-house development at Ballyknockane. The site was an area of high archaeological potential situated within the confines of SMR 30:45, earthworks; five further sites are situated within 500m. An earthwork is 12m from the north-east edge of the proposed development area. Testing was undertaken in the areas where it is proposed that ground disturbance will occur. No archaeological materials were encountered in the trenches. Further monitoring of construction works also failed to uncover anything of archaeological significance.
