The site of the proposed development is located in the townland of Rathscanlan, just outside Tobercurry. The proposed development is to consist of 26 houses, accesses and related services. The site is near a ringfort/souterrain situated south of the site. Ten trenches were excavated across the site in May 2004. No archaeological remains were uncovered during the course of the excavation.
