It is proposed to build a mixed residential/ commercial development on two adjoining sites overlooking the Garvogue River, on Markievicz Road in Sligo town. Three test-trenches were excavated across the site. The results suggested that the area was used until relatively recently (19th century) as back plots associated with developments fronting out on to Holborn Street to the east. Nothing of particular archaeological interest survived within the development area.
