Monitoring was undertaken at Lavagh as part of granted planning permission to construct a telecommunications system. The site is close to an enclosure. A compound area was built to enable operation of the system. It measured 6m by 6m and is located inside a mature forest. Monitoring of preparatory excavation works revealed nothing of archaeological interest and the ground proved to be very disturbed by tree roots. The planting of the forest would have involved deep ploughing and extensive disturbance.
