Testing took place at a proposed development site at Culleenduff, Strandhill, Co. Sligo. The site measured 70m north-west/south-east by 43m and had contained a single dilapidated dwelling. Testing was carried out by a machine fitted with a toothless bucket. Results from the trenches indicate that topsoil, a dark-yellow/brown clay loam, varied in depth between 0.4m and 0.25m and immediately overlaid undisturbed subsoil. A number of agricultural cultivation ridges were noted, but nothing of archaeological significance was uncovered.
