The site of the proposed development, to consist of a house, access, garage and septic tank/percolation area, is located in the townland of Carrowmore, just outside Sligo town and within the general vicinity of the famous passage tomb cemetery. A barrow is situated west of the site. Five trenches were excavated across the site in April 2004. There was no evidence of any archaeological activity.
