The proposed development, to consist of a house, access and septic tank/percolation area, is located a few miles outside of Tobercurry. It is near a number of monuments, the closest of which is an earthworks site. All excavation work was carried out by machine and monitored. Topsoil consisted of a mid-brown clay with small stones and some modern crockery. It ranged between 0.35m and 0.45m deep and rested upon a compact light-grey natural clay with decayed stone. No archaeological features or finds were revealed during the course of the excavation.
