The site of the proposed development of a small dwelling house and connections to local services, at Grange, is located to the rear of Conway’s butcher’s on the main street of Tulsk. The site is located within the zone of archaeological potential for the medieval settlement of Tulsk. As part of an assessment, testing was carried out in July 2004. The site consists of a small portion of garden to the rear of a shed built of rough coursed stone. The site was very difficult to excavate, given the presence of mature trees. Both trenches were excavated to a depth of 0.3–0.35m. No archaeological features or finds were uncovered during the course of the excavation.
