The site of the proposed development at Killerr is located approximately two miles to the south-east of Ballintubber. It is near a large enclosure. The site slopes down very gently from south-west to northeast. The bank of the enclosure forms the southern boundary of the site. Testing was carried out in November 2004. Three trenches were excavated and there was no evidence of any archaeological features or finds. The fourth trench was not excavated, as the proposed septic tank/percolation area is situated too close to the edge of the enclosure. It is likely that the septic tank/percolation area will have to be repositioned and may require further excavation/ monitoring.
