The site of the proposed development, to consist of two houses, accesses and septic tanks/percolation areas, is located just outside Knockcroghery. It is near a church and earthworks (site of). Eight trenches measuring 10m by 1m were excavated across the site in March 2004. All were excavated to a depth of 0.4-0.6m. No archaeological features or finds were uncovered in any of the trenches excavated.
