The site of the proposed development, to consist of a single house, access, septic tank and percolation area, is located just off the Elphin/Drumsna road, between Elphin and Hillstreet. It is located close to an enclosure and a ringfort to the west. Four trenches, measuring 10m by 1m, were excavated by machine in May 2004. All were excavated to a depth of 0.4-0.55m. No archaeological features or finds were uncovered during the course of the excavation.
