The site of the proposed development of a house, access and septic tank/percolation area at Grange is located just outside Four-Mile-House. It is within the bounds of a substantial archaeological complex, which consists of an ancient field system, enclosures, hut sites and a barrow. An adjacent site in the same field was tested by the author in August 2004 under licence 04E1142 (No. 1462 below). No archaeological features or finds were revealed during the course of that excavation.

Five trenches were excavated across the site, all measuring 10m by 1m. All were excavated to a depth of 0.35-0.45m. No archaeological remains or finds were uncovered during the course of the excavation.
