Testing was undertaken pursuant to granted planning permission to construct a dwelling house and carry out associated site works in the townland of Drum or Warren, just outside Boyle, Co. Roscommon. The site is within the confines of a field system. The house site is located on a ridge.

Five trenches were opened on the site, none of which revealed any features of archaeological provenance. Bedrock was relatively close to the surface, 20-400mm below ground level. Testing confirmed the natural provenance of the ridge.
