Testing was carried out at Main Street, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon, on 4 November 2004. The proposed development entails the construction of 30 apartments, a cr_che and Montessori school, access and services. The nearest monument is to the northwest of the site across the River Suck. The proposed development is located to the south of a former mill complex and includes the southern section of the former mill-race. Eight trenches were excavated through the development area. No archaeological features or finds were recorded.
